Our clients have the following rights:

The right to competent representation by an attorney who has the legal knowledge, skill, and mental, emotional, and physical ability to properly, diligently and efficiently represent the client in accordance with the highest standards of the profession. |

The right to be treated with courtesy and consideration. |
|
3.
|
The right to have an attorney's independent, professional judgment, uncompromised by any conflict of interest. |
|
4.
|
The right to an attorney's advice at the outset of representation regarding the advantages and disadvantages of alternatives to litigation. |
|
5.
|
The right to be charged a reasonable fee and to receive, at the outset, an explanation of the billing procedure and how the fee will be calculated. |
|
6.
|
The right to receive honest and clear billing statements. |
|
7.
|
The right to be kept reasonably informed regarding the status of the matter the attorney is working on and to receive all significant documents so that the client can participate meaningfully. |

8.
|
The right to have all questions and concerns addressed in a timely manner and to have telephone calls returned promptly. |
|
9.
|
The right to privacy in all dealings with the attorney and to have all confidences preserved to the extent permitted by law. |
|
10.
|
The right to terminate the representation of the attorney at any time and to receive the file. |
|
11.
|
The right to an attorney who is a member in good standing with the State Bar and who conducts himself or herself ethically and in accordance with the Code of Professional Responsibility. |
Client's Obligation to the Attorney
|
1.
|
The obligation to keep the attorney fully advised as to any fact that could have an impact on the legal matter. |
|
2.
|
The obligation to keep the attorney advised of the client's current address and telephone number. |
|
3.
|
The obligation to follow all requests of counsel promptly. |
